A 6.3M project including the removal of an existing 1200 ton absorption chiller and a 1000 ton steam turbine chiller and replace with two 1650 ton Trane absorption machines
Our client presented us with two huge issues. The first was that the project was 35% over budget. We were able to work with the design team and the college, to not only alter the layout of the chiller plant, but we eliminated a major and costly structural component to facilitate the delivery of two incredibly large machines. When it was all said and done, we came in 5% under budget.
The second challenge was the time frame. Due to the design changes, the work that was scheduled to begin in mid-October did not start for another eight weeks. BP Mechanical was able to deliver a chiller plant on line by April 15th, two weeks ahead of schedule.
