Congratulations to Kyle Malcolm & Leeronson Boykin, graduates of the Steamfitters Local Union 638 Class of 2018! BP admires all efforts throughout this rigorous 4-year course. This increases employee credentials and creates more distinct levels of BP’s Commercial HVAC Services. All BP technicians with degrees are now eligible to complete General Pipe Fitting jobs in NYC and Long Island; Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Nassau/Suffolk Counties.

The school is a combination of local unions representing the Construction Branch and the Metal Trade Services Branch. The Enterprise Association of Steamfitters Local 638 is over 130 years old!

NYC Commercial HVAC Company Introduces an Intrapreneur Committee

HVAC Maintenance EmployeesThe BP Group, a leader in commercial HVAC maintenance, has just recently introduced an intrapreneurship committee, to engage the employees in a safe, fun, and healthy way. This helps us keep the reputation of one of the best cooling, heating, and air conditioning services in the tri-state area.

The first BP Intrapreneur Committee Dinner was an effective team building exercise that was held at the office, early last month. It was a remarkable success! Throughout the dinner, BP employees could informally build relationships with each other, creating stronger personal connections. In addition, another reason for the success of the IC Dinner was the ability of our IC team to listen to any ideas had by employees. We want our employees to use the IC presentations as a medium to have a sense of voice, and sense of contribution to BP, making it a more engaged environment.  Our first presentation was held in the beginning of March, we had about over 40 people come, including our HVAC repair technicians!

These presentations are essential to keep employee engagement high. According to a study conducted by Dale Carnegie Training, only 26% of all employees are actively engaged, 29% are not engaged, and up to 45% are completely disengaged.

Why is it important for employees to be engaged?

Employees who are engaged create an easier, lighter, and more productive work environment for co-workers both in and out of the office. This leads to better service, higher customer satisfaction, increased sales, higher levels of profit, and even higher shareholder returns.

We like to ensure that our employees are always engaged and have a solid workplace approach that can result in the right conditions for all members of an organization to give of their best each day. This entails staying committed to their organization’s goals and values, being motivated to contribute to organizational success, as well as creating an enhanced sense of their own well-being. Through this, BP can always create a stable, safe, and more exciting work environment.

Intrapreneurs develop the aptitude to solve problems while they work to foster the growth of a corporation. At our next IC Dinner, April 26th, the Intrapreneurs will present more idea’s regarding how to improve our work environment, create tactics, and hold events to improve overall atmosphere of the office.

Smardt Chiller and US Chiller Services announced the formation of two new relationships on January 10, 2018, with service provider contracts executed for New York Tri State area and regional Arabian Gulf markets. Both contracts are effective immediately, and give US Chillers priority access to Smardt chiller products and services as well as the award-winning CPECS chiller plant energy optimization technology.

Smardt is the pioneer and world leader in oil-free centrifugal chiller technology, based in Montreal and with additional factories in Stuttgart, Melbourne, New York and Guangzhou. Energy Efficiency and Cost of Chiller Ownership

“We’re really excited to be working at last with the Smardt technology, products and solutions”, said Mizesko. “This will make a big contribution to our building owners”.

“This is a new partnership that can be very big for both companies”, said Turbocor founder and Smardt chairman Roger Richmond-Smith, “and together we can drive it a long way”.
