We Use Data and Talent for Making Business Better

| Category: Blog, Featured

BP Group - HVAC Industry Leaders in NYC

In today’s workforce, there is no shortage of talented individuals. However, there is a shortage of those choosing to pursue traditional “service” type jobs, which includes field service workers in the HVAC industry. This is partly due to the Millennial workforce, which views this profession as a vocation (instead of a sought-after career) and a job that is not part of the “college to real-world” path they feel is necessary to pursue due to the pressures of societal norms.

But this perception is not necessarily reality. A slew of highly intelligent and skilled field service workers are changing the way we do business in the HVAC industry. Our software platforms and these professionals who work at the intersection of service and technology, enable us to rise above and disrupt how our company conducts, analyzes, and completes business. This is next level BP Group and this is how we are using our data and technology to attract talent and make our business better.

What We Do at the BP Group

Through internal motivation and a push from leadership, BP has transformed business processes by leveraging new technology partners and data that was previously unavailable or difficult to obtain, organize, and parse. This data allows us to have a better understanding of how, when, and where we spend our money and provides transparency between our company and our customers.

For us, our interest in technology and data helps us analyze customer behavior, employee personalities and performance, our business finances, and our overall purchasing power. It helps us understand behaviors that could change how we do business and the finances we have to support our decision-making.

The Takeaways

From this overall implementation and our use of data, here are a few key takeaways:

  • Using data creates more transparency for clients and an overall better relationship
  • Analyzing data provides helpful insight into making smarter financial decisions and provides buying power when working with vendors and other providers
  • As the availability and use of augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IOT) changes the way we do business, we need to embrace it and learn how to use and leverage the data for doing business better
  • Data insights can make a business quicker, cleaner, smarter, more cost-effective

As the industry continues to innovate and adapt, we must stay ahead of the curve and ensure we don’t lose ground – or talent – and keep pace to grow and make an impact. Our excitement and ability to embrace and implement technology will help us better serve our customers and provide more opportunities to talent to thrive.

Analytics, they’re not only used in sports

| Category: Blog

In today’s day and age it is no longer acceptable for a business to solely understand a current situation they are faced with. Businesses need to digest current situations while simultaneously formulating a tactical approach on how the next situation will be handled (prior to knowing what the situation actually is). One may compare business analytics to sports analytics, as it is vital in both to use past and present statistics to your advantage so you have the ability to forecast the future. Past and present achievements and difficulties need to be considered while collecting and reviewing statistical data in order to sustain a business that can both serve and solve the needs of their clients, just like they do in sporting events!

We at BP understand the significance of strong analytics. Through technology advancements, we now have the ability to generate valuable information from the buildings BACnet Control systems. Essentially, the building analytics will allow BP to maintain or in most cases improve the overall energy and operational efficiency, comfort, and maintenance of your buildings.

One of BP’s many various analytic advantages will allow you to set an optimum operating standard and will report to you when you are deviating from that standard. The result is the protection of your assets, conservation of energy, continuous monitoring to avoid system downtime and reporting on all key system functions. The reports generated are easy to understand and will allow your building management team to succeed at meeting your operational and financial goals.

The BP Group has a vast wealth of experience and knowledge of past and present trends in the HVAC and mechanical industry, it goes without saying that integrating a system that will assist in forecasting the future based on statistical data will better help us serve our client’s needs, before they even know it’s a necessity. Should you have any questions, contact Ralph Andrews, VP of The BP Group.

NYC Commercial HVAC Company Introduces an Intrapreneur Committee

| Category: Blog

HVAC Maintenance EmployeesThe BP Group, a leader in commercial HVAC maintenance, has just recently introduced an intrapreneurship committee, to engage the employees in a safe, fun, and healthy way. This helps us keep the reputation of one of the best cooling, heating, and air conditioning services in the tri-state area.

The first BP Intrapreneur Committee Dinner was an effective team building exercise that was held at the office, early last month. It was a remarkable success! Throughout the dinner, BP employees could informally build relationships with each other, creating stronger personal connections. In addition, another reason for the success of the IC Dinner was the ability of our IC team to listen to any ideas had by employees. We want our employees to use the IC presentations as a medium to have a sense of voice, and sense of contribution to BP, making it a more engaged environment.  Our first presentation was held in the beginning of March, we had about over 40 people come, including our HVAC repair technicians!

These presentations are essential to keep employee engagement high. According to a study conducted by Dale Carnegie Training, only 26% of all employees are actively engaged, 29% are not engaged, and up to 45% are completely disengaged.

Why is it important for employees to be engaged?

Employees who are engaged create an easier, lighter, and more productive work environment for co-workers both in and out of the office. This leads to better service, higher customer satisfaction, increased sales, higher levels of profit, and even higher shareholder returns.

We like to ensure that our employees are always engaged and have a solid workplace approach that can result in the right conditions for all members of an organization to give of their best each day. This entails staying committed to their organization’s goals and values, being motivated to contribute to organizational success, as well as creating an enhanced sense of their own well-being. Through this, BP can always create a stable, safe, and more exciting work environment.

Intrapreneurs develop the aptitude to solve problems while they work to foster the growth of a corporation. At our next IC Dinner, April 26th, the Intrapreneurs will present more idea’s regarding how to improve our work environment, create tactics, and hold events to improve overall atmosphere of the office.

SMARDT CHILLER, U.S. CHILLER SERVICES JOIN FORCES TO UPGRADE HVAC ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN NEW YORK AND GULF MARKETS

Smardt Chiller and US Chiller Services announced the formation of two new relationships on January 10, 2018, with service provider contracts executed for New York Tri State area and regional Arabian Gulf markets. Both contracts are effective immediately, and give US Chillers priority access to Smardt chiller products and services as well as the award-winning CPECS chiller plant energy optimization technology.

Smardt is the pioneer and world leader in oil-free centrifugal chiller technology, based in Montreal and with additional factories in Stuttgart, Melbourne, New York and Guangzhou. It now has some 7000 Smardt high-efficiency low-maintenance chillers in operation across the globe, and over 900 chiller models on offer from 60 tons to 2500 tons capacity.

US Chiller Services is a global independent large tonnage chiller and energy services company with operations throughout the United States and the Arabian Gulf. US Chiller Services provides specialist services for large tonnage centrifugal chillers, liquid chillers and energy solutions, as well as operation and maintenance services for the district cooling industry. The company specializes in the repair, maintenance, retrofit and service of all OEM makes and models of large tonnage chillers ranging in size from 100 tons to 10,000 tons. It aims to provide unrivaled services and solutions to the liquid chiller, chilled water plant and district cooling plant industry. The company’s approach is to make sure that chillers, chilled water plants and district cooling plants operate at optimum efficiency.

Energy Efficiency and Cost of Chiller Ownership

Driven by global climate change and sustainability concerns, Smardt’s rapid growth reflects increased market focus on energy efficiency and lifetime total cost of chiller ownership. “If you’re a building owner, a Smardt chiller is a no-brainer”, according to US Chillers managing partner Dan Mizesko. “Your lifetime savings in energy costs, maintenance and repair costs compared with older lubricated equipment fall straight to your bottom line, and we’ve seen total plant savings of over 60%”, he said today.

“Our joint opportunities are enormous, with US Chiller Services responsible for hundreds of thousands of tons of aging chiller plants and superb HVAC engineering resources in both New York and the Middle East”, Jared Peters said today. Peters is general manager of Smardt’s growing Solutions division. “And when we drive down HVAC energy consumption together across this big base, improved owner profits last throughout the life of the chiller plant”, he said.

“We’re really excited to be working at last with the Smardt technology, products and solutions”, said Mizesko. “This will make a big contribution to our building owners”.

“This is a new partnership that can be very big for both companies”, said Turbocor founder and Smardt chairman Roger Richmond-Smith, “and together we can drive it a long way”.
