When BP Mechanical was hired as the mechanical contractor for the restoration and upgrade of the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph’s, they knew two things: it would be challenging and it would be worth it. Their primary task was the installation of two 30-ton air-handling units on each side of the attic, a 200-ton modular chiller outside, a twin boiler system to heat the church, and new fan coils for perimeter heating and cooling of the cathedral. In addition to those accomplishments, here are some highlights of the two-year project:

Project Highlights:

  • Provided contracting services including creation and installation of multi-level scaffolding for interior restoration of cathedral
  • Served as the mechanical contractor on the project and kept all trades on task to reach major milestones and stay within critical timeframes
  • Worked closely with the Monsignor to achieve the goals of the Diocese
  • Mass was held in the church every Sunday without interruption throughout the completion of the project
